Linking Collections, Building Connections

Thanks to all the participating organizations for helping to bring this online exhibition to completion. The 2011 physical exhibition Linking Collections, Building Connections: Work from the Hudson Valley Visual Art Collections Consortium was organized by Ariel Shanberg, then Executive Director at the Center for Photography at Woodstock, and Brian Wallace, Dorsky Museum curator from 2006-2011. Also of enormous service to the project were SUNY New Paltz Summer Undergraduate Research Award intern Abby Duckor and the staff at SUNY New Paltz’s Center for Research, Regional Education, and Outreach, Design and Print Services, Computer Services, and Instructional Media Services.

The 2017 online exhibition is a revision by Derin Tanyol, Director of Exhibitions and Programs at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild. Digital librarian Arden Kirkland (MSLIS, MFA, CAS) produced the exhibition template using Omeka, an open source web-publishing platform for the display of library, museum, archives, and scholarly collections and exhibitions. Thanks to dedicated volunteer Susan Shaw for managing all data entry.

Funding for this online exhibition was provided in part by Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area.
