Linking Collections, Building Connections
Greenberg’s strategic patronage ensures that his donations are in keeping with organizations’ respective missions. Greenberg gave the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum photographic portraits of early participants in the activities of the WAA, founded in 1919, including George Bellows, Wilna Hervey, and Eugene Speicher. Greenberg’s interests as a collector and donor are focused primarily on photography; WAAM’s self-portrait by Konrad Cramer is the work of a painter who also created important experimental work in photography.
