Barbara Kasten photographs three-dimensional environments that she constructs from found objects and light sensitive elements such as mirrors, glass, and gels. Blurring the boundaries between sculpture, painting, and photography, Kasten references postmodern deconstruction of architectural space, while echoing the early abstract photography of Man Ray and Lázló Moholy-Nagy.
